Tights are not pants. End of story. However, if your top is long enough, you may not require pants, and tights will suffice.
The thing I hate about “fashion” like this is that when I wear black tights as pants and a bunch of baggy layers (plaid shirt, hoodie, leather jacket), I wear it as “bumming around the house/going to the library” clothes and my friends remind me that I forgot to wear pants. When pretty girls who live in cities that have cobblestone streets wear it, it’s fashion. So here is my question: do I need to give up on tights-as-pants or do I just need to move to a city with cobblestone streets in order to achieve fashionista status? This question is mostly addressed to my fashion-fag Wesley and my favourite tights-as-pants advocate Michelle. Guys?
